Influenced by neoclassical painting, cinema (especially of the 1950s) and early turn-of-the-century photographic portraits.
Blending genres of fashion, portraiture, and the documentary photograph, my work chronicles the buoyancy of life and the starkness of reality. Through careful use of strobe and ambient light, I delicately balance my subjects within their environments. My work has been a salient solution to the artistic needs of a diverse client base including such notable clients as CBS, ESPN, Timeout NY, Vanity Teen, New York City Opera and Vibe Magazine just to name a few.
A native New Yorker, and a graduate of the School of Visual Arts, I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography while studying under Sid Kaplan (Master Black and White Printer), Sarah Friedman (Editorial Photographer), Eleanor Carucci (Fine Art Photographer) assisted photographer Danielle Levitt and was selected to be part of the SVA Mentor Series where I worked one-on-one with mentor Jody Quon (Photo Editor New York Magazine) - Final show at the SVA Gallery in Chelsea NYC.
A lover of logistics as much as art, and frequent traveler, my studio located in the heart of Manhattan east of Gramercy Park and Flatiron District has handled productions ranging from guerrilla style (run and gun photography) to large scale productions of 30+ for major networks - both on location and in studio locally as well as internationally.
